With the purpose of becoming world-class city science research base and professional think-tank, Smart City Joint Lab (preparatory) is founded by Chinese Society for Urban Studies (CSUS) to support the China smart cities development.

　　Focusing on smart city key technical problems, Smart City Joint Lab is a service organization that teams up the smart city enterprises, universities, academic research centers and other correlative organization to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism.

　　To support the China smart city development and related the ministries, the Joint Labs focuses on smart city science and research, standardization, smart city planning consultant, test and evaluation. So far, we have established 19 different Joint Labs with worldwide smart city related organizations that covers in varies fields such as smart city solutions, spatial information, information security, media communication and promotion, big data and city operation, water management projects, Green building, smart infrastructure, smart tourism, smart community etc..

　　为打造智慧城市科研基地和专业智库，服务我国智慧城市建设，中国城市科学研究会批准成立智慧城市联合实验室(筹)(简称“联合实验室”)。联合实验室将联同同行业或产业上下游相关科研机构及创新企业，围绕本领域关键共性技术问题，建立长久合作共建机制。目前联合实验室已与国内外相关企事业单位组建实验室21个，对接国家部委此方面的工作，开展智慧城市领域科研、标准评价、规划咨询、测试与评估及基础研究等工作。专业涵盖技术解决方案、空间信息、信息安全、多媒体信息传播、大数据与城市运营、水工程、建筑节能、基础设施、智慧旅游、智慧社区等。
